My name is Xavier, but most people know me as Barelyhispanic.

Which is funny because both my parents are about as Puerto Rican as it gets. My life is one big attempt at accepting my insecurities and everything I’m not enough of. I’m a lens based artist and storyteller specializing in photography and cinematography. My work falls squarely between my Puerto Rican heritage and my Detroit upbringing, as I do my part to make sure our stories get told firsthand. This website is a testament to that very crusade. I document everything and everyone that inspires me and I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. This, like everything I do, is for my family, my friends, and my city.
